Marc Lomax Band Live… With Absinthe!
That’s right folks… The band just played their first gig at an Absinthe bar! Time Restaurant (www.TimeRestaurant.net) in Center City, Philadelphia has been featuring Marc Lomax as a solo musician regularly for the last few months. This week, the owner wanted more from Marc. He asked for the entire band to come out and play from 10pm – 2am and turn his hot new bar/restaurant into a live music venue. We were happy to help, and arrived fully armed with our entire arsenal of instruments and PA gear.
Time Restaurant is located at 1315 Sansom Street in the heart of Philadelphia. Loading in a band in Center City is often a HUGE pain but Sansom Street is different. Sansom is a smaller street tucked between two major thouroughfares in Center City. If you’re not a local, you’d have no reason to use it. Fortunately for the locals, Sansom Street holds some of the best bars, clubs and restaurants in the city – as well as easy parking! Shhhhh… Don’t tell anyone. We parked our van right in front of Time and loaded our gear directly on stage through a giant window! It was officially the easiest Center City load-in of all time.
Once we set up our gear, Iggs dialed in our overall sound and we starting jamming. The gig went great, people were clapping and dancing and the bar sold a tons of booze. We played all of the original songs and most of the covers we knew, we even tried a few covers we’ve only played a few times. It was a great night, we’re looking forward to playing at Time again really soon!
